Campus Minister, Music Director
Anna O'Connell is grateful to be a member of such a vibrant community of faith here at Cornell. As director of the ensembles for Mass in Sage as well as artistic director of the Anabel Taylor Chapel Choir, Anna is excited to share her passion for sacred music for the purpose of glorifying God!
She most recently received her Master's degree in Choral Music from the University of Southern California, where she was director of an ensemble specializing in polyphony and chant for the Mass. In addition, she was co-director of USC's preeminent women's choir, the Oriana Chorus. It was at USC where she developed a passion for campus ministry, and was co-chair of the USC Catholic Center Grad and Young Professionals group. These two formative years echoed with the joy she had as an undergrad in Music Education with the beloved Dominican Friars at Providence College in Rhode Island.
Beyond music (Anna is a classically trained harpist and vocalist), Anna has a special interest in 20th century Catholic literary figures- and hopes you will stop by to chat about Flannery O'Connor! If you play an instrument or sing, or are otherwise interested in signing up for a liturgical committee, please let Anna know!
