The Holy See — The Vatican is a country located within the city of Rome, Italy. It is the official residence of the present pope, Benedict XVI, as well as the location of all universal offices of the Roman Catholic Church.
United States Conference of Catholic Bishops — The USCCB is the corporate name of the hierarchy of the United States. This website is an excellent source of news and documents from the American Church.
New York State Catholic Conference — The official public policy voice of the Catholic Church in New York.

News and Information

Catholic Information Network — One of the earliest major Catholic web sites. Contains news, web boards, and mailing lists. There are also sections on saints, prayer, Church documents, and liturgy.
Catholic News Service — The oldest and largest news wire service specializing in reporting on religion, is the primary source of national and world Catholic news that appears in the US.
Human Rights Watch — An organization dedicated to protecting the human rights of people around the world.
Catholic Relief Services (CRS) — Catholic Relief Services is the international humanitarian agency of the Catholic community in the United States. Founded in 1943 by the U.S. bishops, the agency provides assistance to 80 million people in more than 100 countries and territories all over the world.
Caritas Internationalis — Caritas Internationalis is a confederation of 162 Catholic relief, development and social service organizations operating in over 200 countries and territories worldwide. Collectively and individually their mission is to work to build a better world, especially for the poor and oppressed.
Catholic Charities USA — Catholic Charities USA provides leadership and support to enhance the work of the local agencies in their efforts to reduce poverty, support families, and empower communities. Also has good reference material on Catholic social justice.
USCCB — Themes of Social Justice Thinking provides an overview of the Church's social teaching about building a just society and living lives of holiness amidst the challenges of modern society.

Sacred Scripture

Sacred Space — Sacred Space is a prayer site, updated daily, which guides you through a ten minute session of prayer, based one of the daily Mass readings. Sacred Space is a work of the Irish Province of the Society of Jesus. Being a ministry of the Irish Jesuits, it is inspired by the spirituality of Saint Ignatius of Loyola (Ignatian spirituality).
Daily Mass Readings (USCCB) — Daily Mass Readings provides the reading for the day and links to download podcasts via iTunes or other audio file formats.

Catholic Biblical Apologetics — A set of lecture notes used since 1985 to teach the basis for key doctrines and dogmas of the Roman Catholic Church.

Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops approved this document in November 2007.
