Annual Weekend Retreat
Early spring at Mt. Saviour Monastery, Pine City, NY
For students 21 and over—an opportunity to pray with the monks, experience quiet and reflect on our response to the call of Christ.

Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius
Weekly throughout the academic year, the "Spiritual Exercises" is a school of prayer for people engaged in the world. The practice of the exercises becomes a personal, systematic exploration of St. Ignatius' method to know ourselves in relationship with Christ, to examine the choices we have made (and are in the process of making), and to more clearly respond to Christ's call to discipleship.

The program begins with a four-session introduction to the life and spirituality of St. Ignatius followed by weekly sessions to explore St. Ignatius' method of developing a personal relationship with Christ and practicing the art of discernment.

Getting involved

Students are encouraged to initiate the formation of groups within the Cornell Catholic. These groups offer Catholic student opportunities to get to know each other, have fun together, serve the Church and the local community, pray together and learn more about the Catholic faith. Examples of groups that have been active over the past few years are: undergraduate and graduate fellowships, social groups, service groups, discussion groups, Emmaus groups (for Bible reflection), prayer groups, Coffee and Catholicism (discussion after Mass), and ecumenical and interfaith activities.

Our liturgical celebrations depend on students' involvement as Lectors, Ministers of Communion, Ushers and Sacristans. Student leaders coordinate each of these ministries.

News of group activities are publicized on the website and are included in announcements at Mass.
