Fr. Gerry McKeon, S.J. entered the Society of Jesus of New England after graduating from the College of the Holy Cross in 1976. His first assignment after Ordination involved ministry on the beautiful Island of Jamaica in the West Indies. There he taught Religion and acted as Campus Minister at St. George’s College in Kingston. He later trained catechists and deacons, served briefly as vocation director, worked in parishes, and offered spiritual direction.
Fr. Gerry also was blessed to be involved in Campus Ministry at a number of Colleges and Universities in the States. These include: Holy Cross College, University of Connecticut, and Curry College. A ministry which Fr. Gerry particularly enjoys is retreat ministry and spiritual direction. He worked for two years at a Jesuit Retreat House in Gloucester, Ma, and was involved in a variety of retreats and offered spiritual direction as a Campus Minister, and as a Chaplain at a Psychiatric Hospital.
He is grateful to be engaged once again in the work of Campus Ministry with college students as they seek to find God in all aspects of their lives. He sincerely hopes to support students on their spiritual journey during their undergraduate and graduate years.
