I am an undergraduate in the class of 2022 studying Human Development in the College of Human Ecology. I enjoy seeing what I study come to life in my life, in my faith, and through the stories of others. Cornell Catholic has provided me with wonderful friends and welcoming spaces of growth. Within the Cornell Catholic Social Justice Committee, I have also had the opportunity to continue to inspire and be inspired by the brilliant and strong women on my committee and within the leadership team. In our Community Conversations with the Cornell Catholic Community, I have had the privilege to amplify my voice as a woman of color in the Catholic Church on current and pressing social justice issues. I really saw that empathy is not only in feeling but also in doing when you know that something is wrong (and yes, that thought was from Michelle Obama, of course).
